Pennycress (Thlaspi arvense) is a winter annual oilseed species being developed as a rapid cycling winter cover crop and biodiesel feedstock. To aid in the rapid improvement of this species, the Pennycress Genomics team at the University of Minnesota has developed the first genomic resources for this exciting species, including an annotated de novo transcriptome assembly and a draft genome assembly.
A manuscript describing the Thlaspi arvense v1.0 genome will be published soon in a peer-reviewed journal.
